2025 Winter Basketball

Come join us for another season of basketball. It is a fun and exciting program that introduces everyone to the game of basketball. The goal of this league is to develop players while learning the basics, which include, passing, shooting, and teamwork. The focus will be on building character, good sportsmanship, skill development, and having FUN!

YMCA Basketball Skills Evaluation Information

Date: Monday 12/1/25 and Tuesday 12/2/25

All players, even the coach’s children, must attend the skills evaluation to be ranked for the player draft.

Each player will go through a series of stations to demonstrate their skills and be given an individual score. Scores will be collected and analyzed by YMCA staff. Skills will include dribbling, shooting, speed, height, and defense. Stations will be completed by one player at a time. This should take no longer than 20 minutes per player once they begin completing the stations. Coaches will receive information individually about the draft day process and time. Coaches may attend while their child is being evaluated but are not allowed to view the remainder of the evaluation process.

Please see below for information regarding your players’ age group. You may drop-in during your scheduled time.

Biddy ball players will not participate in the skills day. Teams will be generated at random.

• 6-7 years old and 8-9 years old will evaluate on Monday 12/1/25 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

• 10-12 years old and 13-15 years old will evaluate on Tuesday 12/2/25 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

If your child misses the evaluation day they will be put into a blind draft please make every effort to be there.
